Orphe is going to expand from the entertainment field to the development of IoT healthcare products.

Makers Boot Camp (Darma Tech Labs, head office: Kyoto, Representative Director: Narimasa Makino, hereinafter “MBC”) and no new folk studio, startup up behind Smart Footwear ® Orphe, (Head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, Representative Director: Yuya Kikukawa, hereinafter “nnf”) announce that “MBC Shisaku No.1 Investment Business Limited Liability Partnership” (“the Fund”) will support nnf. The startup is developing a smart footwear and its platform and plans to sell them to shoe manufacturers all over the world. Orphe is a completely new Smart Footware®: born in the concept of expressing everyday mood with full-color LED, real-time motion sensor and Bluetooth module (wireless communication function), it analyzes the movement of the foot and converts it into lights and sounds. In addition to connecting with a mobile app, you can edit the light color and sounds and use it as a tool for new expression into dance, performances & art. If connected to a Mac, you can link with instruments, projectors, AR / VR, etc. The startup has been collaborating with many Japanese brands like AKB48, Suiyoubino Campanella (水曜日のカンパネラ) and Kansai Yamamoto, attracting global attention as a pioneer of smart footwear.

[About the small lot support from Makers Boot Camp]
MBC invests in startups that must produce small lot prototypes prior to mass production, and at the same time, provides technical support along with the Kyoto Shisaku Net (Kyoto Prototype Network). nnf aims at improving the performance of the current Orphe product, such as safety and durability so the prototype will be developed with the support of MBC. Orphe is planning to exhibit its new developing product at CES 2018, worldwide know home appliance trade fair to be held in Las Vegas (January, 2018).

Until now, Orphe has provided services and technologies specialized in the art and entertainment field, but in the future it will develop a range of technological applications, as healthcare and sports, based on accurate motion analysis and real-time feedback.
